About us
The Romanian Society for Radiological Protection RSRP is:
- a professional association of the Romanian specialists in radiation protection field;
- an nonadvocacy, nonprofit and nongovernmental organization;
- founded in May 30, 1990;
- an IRPA Associated Society since 1992;
- Member of the Central European Association of IRPA Associated Societies since 2000.
Our goals
- to protect population and radiation workers against the harmful effects of ionizing radiation;
- to develop and make known the scientific, technical, medical and legal aspects of radiation protection on a nationwide scale;
- to imply the civil society in the benefit/risk analyses for the ionizing radiation uses.
Organisation
- 130 active members from the whole country on 1-st of September, 2009, about 80 since 2012;
- a board elected every 2 years, president, 3 vice-presidents, one secretary, 10 members and one treasurer;
- a library with books and journals in the radiation protection field;
- financial resources from members annual fees and donations.
Accomplished projects
- Participation of RSRP’s members to all International and Regional (European) Congresses organized by IRPA, since 1996
- In collaboration with the Romanian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (CNCAN), the International Simpozium on NATURAL RADIATION SOURCES, 21 – 24 May 2019
